5 Great Ford Safety Features Available on 2024 Models

Safety has always been a top priority in every Ford design, and 2024 Ford models have the added protection of the Ford Co-Pilot360. This advanced safety suite contains numerous systems that continually watch in all directions to keep you safe on the road. Let's talk more about some of these Ford safety features. more Pre-Collision Assist This feature uses cameras and sensors to watch the road before you. It continuously scans this area for movement and can detect vehicles, pedestrians, or animals that cross your path. The sensors compute your speed and the distance between your front bumper and the identified object in front of you to determine a potential collision risk. If the system determines a collision is likely, it provides visual and audio alerts to warn you. If you don't respond fast enough, Automatic Emergency Braking is engaged to slow or stop your vehicle instantly, depending on the identified risk level. Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) Blind spots are a constant worry for many drivers. Despite your best efforts, it's impossible to easily and continually watch these areas. Another vehicle can easily enter a blind spot without you seeing it, which can easily lead to an accident. BLIS removes these issues. Its sensors scan your vehicle's blind spots and automatically alert you of anything that enters it. BLIS includes Cross-Traffic Alert. This system scans the area behind your rear bumper and signals an alert if you're reversing and a vehicle or pedestrian enters the scanned area. Lane-Keeping System When driving, particularly if you're tired or slightly distracted, it's easy to drift into another lane without realizing it. Unfortunately, if another vehicle is traveling fast in that lane, they may not stop in time, and this can cause an accident. This feature identifies the lane lines on the road and provides audio and visual alerts if you unintentionally cross into another lane. Hill Descent Control Driving down a steep incline, particularly if the road twists and turns, can be dangerous. This feature automatically activates anytime you're driving downhill. It intelligently automatically applies the brakes when needed to control your descent and get you to the bottom safely. Rearview Camera Reversing requires repeatedly watching your rearview and side mirrors and even looking over your shoulder for a clearer look. This is distracting as you can't identify other potential situations around you. With this feature, a rearview camera activates as soon as you shift into reverse. The camera clearly shows the area behind you and generates guidelines to assist you as you back up. These are just some of the many ways your Ford protects you. Your Guide to the 2023 Ford Explorer Dynamic Performance The 2023 Explorer's engine options are all notable due to their strong horsepower, as even the smallest option, a 2.3-liter I-4, offers an impressive output with 300 horsepower. Next in line in terms of power is the 3.3-liter V6, a hybrid that gets an EPA-estimated 28 mpg on highways, though if it's muscle you're after, the 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 is the strongest option. When taking your adventures off-road, you'll love the available Intelligent 4WD system, which optimizes the vehicle to different surfaces automatically. This system is complemented by a terrain management system that offers multiple modes for tackling tough terrains, whether it's sand, gravel, mud, or slippery roads. A Comfortable Cabin Also known for its first-class interior amenities, this edition offers heated, perforated-leather seating, an ambient lighting feature for calming vibes when you need it, and a twin-panel moonroof that's perfect for stargazing with family or friends. In addition to tri-zone climate control, there's also a rear auxiliary control, which allows passengers in the second row to fully control temperatures in the rear of the vehicle. As for accessing the rear, the E-Z Entry second-row seats can be moved out of the way by simply pulling a lever. Cutting-Edge Tech Many of the 2023 Explorer's tech features are impressive as well, from the wireless smartphone charging pad to the two high-clarity B&O audio systems. To help you navigate your way around obstacles when driving off-road, the optional 360-degree camera lets you see around the vehicle with live split-screen images. Mixing entertainment, navigation assistance, apps, and smartphone connectivity into an all-in-one system, SYNC 3 provides everything you need to spice up daily commutes and road adventures with an available full-color 10.1-inch touchscreen. Sophisticated Safety Combining convenient technology with safety, the vehicle's many driver-assist features can make journeys both safer and more relaxing, like the Automatic High-Beam Headlamps. If headlights from an oncoming vehicle are detected, these headlamps can automatically switch your high beams to low beams to prevent distractions for other drivers. There's also the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), which keeps guard over your blind spots by letting you know whenever other vehicles are entering them. Even parking is easier, thanks to Active Park Assist 2.0, which can automatically park the vehicle once you've chosen a good spot to do so.
