The best thing about the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning EV Pickup is that it has kept all the best features of America’s #1-selling pickup. The F-150 Lightning comes with much of the same power, torque, towing capacity, and cargo room found in a gas-powered F-150 pickup, but with zero-emission electric motors.

Electric Motor, Power, and Performance

The F-150 Lightning comes standard with two electric motors and all-wheel-drive. The motors combine to give the vehicle 452 horsepower. With the available Extended Range battery, the combined horsepower rises to 580. Engine torque is 775 pound-feet in all trims, leading to impressive acceleration power. The Lightning’s road handling is also impressive thanks to an independent rear suspension.

Mileage Range and Battery Life

The F-150 Lightning XLT has an EPA-estimated range of 240 miles. The Flash and Lariat trims with an Extended Range battery have an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles. The Platinum trim clocks in at an EPA-estimated 300-mile range. As an added perk, the F-150 Lighting is engineered to be a battery supply/backup generator for use in powering homes, supplying up to 3 days of energy to an average home off of a fully charged truck.

Towing and Payload Capacity

The standard towing capacity of the F-150 Lightning is 7700 pounds. Towing capacity increases to 10,000 pounds with the optional Extended Range batteries. Payload capacity is 2000 pounds with the standard range models and 1800 pounds for the Extended Range models.

Cargo Capacity

The F-150 Lightning’s 5.5 foot cargo bed offers 52.8 cubic feet of room. The front end trunk, where the gas-powered engine used to be, offers an additional 14.1 cubic feet of room with the ability to carry additional cargo weighing up to 400 pounds.

Interior and Infotainment

The spacious interior of the F-150 Lightning seats five adults comfortably, offering ample leg and headroom. A large 12.0-inch infotainment touch-screen display comes standard, with an even larger 15.5-inch display available. In-dash navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto all come standard.

Safety Features

The F-150 Lightning comes with a host of safety features. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist are standard. Adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving mode is also available.
