2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty
The Ford Super Duty F-250 is all the truck most drivers need, no matter what they use it for. It offers a choice of engines, plenty of towing and hauling power, and an upscale interior. For the 2022 model year, The F-250 receives some new infotainment features, including a 12-inch touch screen and the Sync 4 system. There are also some new exterior color options and a new Sport appearance package for the Lariat.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level F-250 is the XL. It comes with 17-inch steel wheels and black painted steel bumpers, while the XLT has 18-inch alloy wheels, a chrome grille, and chrome bumpers. Step up to the Lariat to get power-folding side mirrors or to the King Ranch for LED lighting in the bed, a remote tailgate release, 20-inch wheels, running boards, a tailgate step, and color-keyed bumpers.
The Platinum comes with LED taillights and fog lights, a chrome exhaust tip, and LED headlights, plus power-deployable running boards and 20-inch alloy wheels. The top-level Limited adds to this with a twin-panel moonroof.
Engine (Power)
Power for the F-250 starts with a 6.2-liter gas V-8 engine that delivers 385 horsepower. A 7.3-liter V-8 is available and will get 430 horsepower, and there's also a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine available that puts out 475 horsepower and generates 1,050 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Rear-wheel drive comes standard with the F-250, but all models offer four-wheel drive. When equipped with the turbodiesel engine and a gooseneck hitch, this truck can tow up to 22,800 pounds, and if you use a conventional hitch, it can pull 20,000 pounds.
Interior
The F-250 can fit up to six people in the larger cabs, and everyone has a comfortable place to sit. The Lariat and above come with leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats, with a heated steering wheel added to the Platinum and Limited, along with ventilated front seats that also have a massaging function. These higher trims also have memory settings for the driver's seat and a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather. For tech features, the lower trims have an 8-inch touch screen, but if you bump up to the Lariat, it now comes standard with a 12-inch touch screen and the Sync 4 infotainment system with wireless connections to smartphones and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The King Ranch gains a wireless charging pad, and the Platinum has an enhanced voice recognition system and built-in navigation.
Safety Features
Every 2022 F-250 comes with a rearview camera, hill start assist, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and a pre-collision system with automatic braking and forward-collision warning. The Lariat adds a reverse sensing system, and if you bump up to the Platinum, it comes with more driver aids, including adaptive cruise control. The Limited adds to this with an adaptive steering system, automatic high beams, and lane-keep alert. Ford also offers advanced trailer aids for the F-250, including a lane-keeping alert system that works with a trailer, trailer backup assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
