2022 Ford Transit Connect

With the Transit Connect, you can choose from a range of attractive exterior colors. These include School Bus Yellow, Race Red, Dark Blue, and Silver. The van is available in a cargo and a passenger configuration, and you can choose from the following trim levels: XL Cargo, XL Passenger, XLT Cargo, XLT Passenger, and Titanium. With the XL Cargo trim, you receive 180-degree swing-out rear cargo doors, automatic headlights, integrated spotter mirrors, and rain-sensing front wipers. This trim also comes with HID headlamps, dual-sliding side doors, configurable daytime running lights, and 16-inch steel wheels. The XL Passenger trim offers largely the same features, except for a few changes, such as a rear liftgate with fixed glass and a wiper, fixed third-row side windows, and power-operated second-row windows. Along with auto high-beam headlights, the XLT Cargo trim features halogen fog lights and power-adjustable and heated mirrors. The XLT Passenger van also offers these features, plus it gets a five-bar grille with a chrome surround. With the Titanium Passenger trim, you receive LED fog lights and 16-inch aluminum wheels.

Two engines are offered with the Transit Connect. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and generates 162 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque. For a more spirited output of 169 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque, opt for the available 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine goes through a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Transit Connect is impressive because of its car-like handling. The van provides light but precise steering and overall composed and agile performance around town. In addition, you receive decent towing and hauling capability from this van. The maximum payload rating is 1,550 pounds, and when the van is equipped with the Trailer Tow Package, you can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

The cabin of the Transit Connect can either accommodate two passengers or seven, depending on whether you opt for a cargo or passenger van. If you go for a cargo van, you can configure it with a vocational upfit that matches your business. Available options include rooftop ladder racks, double floors, drawers, storage cabinets, and much more. Although the standard infotainment system is a bit basic, you can opt for the available Sync 3 system, which comes with a 6.5-inch display, smart-charging USB ports, SiriusXM, wireless charging, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. For a more comfortable ride, go with the Titanium trim, which features a nine-speaker audio sound system, navigation, leather upholstery, and heated front seats.

Standard safety features included with the Ford Transit Connect are a rearview camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, emergency brake assist, and torque vectoring control. Available systems include a reverse-sensing system.
