2023 Ford Maverick
Coming back for the second year is the 2023 Ford Maverick, looking to improve on a successful debut. This year, the Maverick offers the popular Tremor package giving the compact truck serious off-roading chops. The compact Maverick is an excellent choice if you want to have the utility of a pickup truck but without a larger footprint. Here are the best features of the 2023 Ford Maverick.
Trim Levels
Three trims are offered for the 2023 Ford Maverick: XL, XLT, and Lariat. The entry-level XL blacks out the aesthetic with black door handles, surround, mirror caps, and mesh grille. In addition, standard features include six bed tie-downs, 17-inch steel wheels, the Flexbed system, LED headlights, two 12-volt electrical leads, incandescent taillights, and a cargo lamp. The XLT adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, a gray grille bar, cubby storage in the bed, wiper-activated headlights, and 10 bed tie-downs.
The top-of-the-line Lariat rolls down the road on 18-inch aluminum wheels and includes body-colored mirror caps and door handles, two cubby storage compartments in the truck bed, and a power-sliding rear window. You can choose from paint colors such as Area 51, Cactus Gray, and Atlas Blue Metallic.
Engine
Two engines are offered for the 2023 Ford Maverick. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a hybrid system and mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. This combination delivers 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque while getting an EPA-estimated highway rating of 37 mpg. The other engine is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission to garner 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Even if it's a smaller truck, the 2023 Ford Maverick still looks to bring the top features you look for in a pickup. Front-wheel drive is standard, but you can upgrade to an all-wheel drive to handle inclement conditions and rougher terrain. With the 4K Tow package and the EcoBoost engine combination, the maximum towing capacity checks in at 4,000 pounds. In addition, you'll find unibody construction, variable assist-power steering, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and electronic power-assist steering.
Interior
Slide into the 2023 Ford Maverick cabin, and you'll be surrounded by convenience and comfort features for both driver and passenger. The XL and XLT will include manual single-zone air conditioning, an in-cabin air filtration system, power locks and windows, two USB ports, a manual six-way adjustable driver's seat, and two 12-volt power outlets. Other interior features include a six-speaker sound system, an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, and Bluetooth.
If you opt for the upscale Lariat, you get an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, two rear USB ports, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Safety Features
The 2023 Ford Maverick has many standard safety features, such as an advanced airbag system along with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes automatic on/off headlights with auto high beams, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera. Optional safety features include a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
